Orphancare Foundation Donate Get to know us OrphanCare Foundation, established in 2008, is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to giving every child the opportunity to grow up in a loving family. As the only NGO in Malaysia operating a Baby Hatch, we have saved 675 newborns from abandonment as of April 2025—each now placed with adoptive or biological families. Our mission also includes reintegrating children from institutions back with their biological families; to date, we've reunited 86 family members and helped them to improve their livelihoods. Guided by our belief that Every Child Needs a Family, we strive to end the institutionalisation of children. Our work OrphanCare Foundation addresses two critical and urgent issues in Malaysia: baby abandonment and the institutionalisation of children. As the only NGO operating Baby Hatches in the country, we provide a safe alternative to unsafe baby dumping—a problem that has claimed hundreds of infant lives over the years. Our efforts have contributed to reducing these numbers, with 675 babies safely received and placed with families as of April 2025. We also play a key role in supporting the government’s deinstitutionalisation agenda by reintegrating children from orphanages with their biological families and placing them in adoptive homes—offering them a real chance at a better future. Without timely intervention, children risk growing up without the love, care, and stability of a family. Our hatches are air conditioned, safe and have a 24 hour CCTV inside the hatch that notifies the caretaker when a baby is left in the hatch so they can immediately receive the care they need. How we'll spend your generous donations The funds raised will directly support OrphanCare’s core mission of saving babies from abandonment and ensuring children grow up in safe, loving families. It will enable us to continue operating our Baby Hatch, provide counselling and support for mothers in crisis, and facilitate safe placements for babies. It will also help sustain our reintegration efforts by supporting families we have reunited—through follow-up, capacity-building, and livelihood assistance. These funds are crucial for the long-term sustainability of our programs, ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive the care, guidance, and stability they need to thrive.
